This is a story about death.

This game is also my entry for Ludum Dare 50.

We mainly consider the protagonist as a father figure.Because the owner of the graffiti excelbook is a little girl, she needs to face the fact that her father has died.

Maybe we can teach children how to face the inevitable....

Many things came to mind when we brainstormed together.
At first, we thought about "too lazy to get out of bed",It happens every morning.

Then we realized in the discussion, what is the real thing that cannot be delayed? is death.

Theme: Delay the inevitable

"I don't want reincarnation" aims to talk about the solemn topic death gently. People are bound to die, but the fear of death always wakes me up on some rainy nights. We make the protagonist a father suddenly died at work. He is still nostalgic for the world. He can't let go of is his little daughter, but reincarnation will deprive him of all his memories.

The game is a moral choice game. The players manipulate the protagonist to carry out various interactions, which ultimately affect what kind of creatures you will turn into through reincarnation. In the game, you need to balance your karma (representing the memory you remember), money, and the remaining time. In addition, there is a hidden value, life point, which will affect what you will be reincarnated next time. I make it possible for players to bribe the Death so as to stay in the hell longer, but if they blindly pursue staying, they will forget all the things in their lifetime and just wander in the underworld. Ultimately, the theme of the game, reincarnation, cannot be postponed. You have to be reincarnated in the end, even if each player will stay in the underworld for different span of time, just like everyone rushing around the world, some staying for a long time, some leaving in a moment.

Since this is a choice-oriented game, I wrote a ton of events to run for it.

We quickly settled on our game screen through some previous drafts, as well as the discussion of the game screen.

Our idea is that the game screen is the graffiti on the workbook, and the father in the family in the lower right corner can be seen obscured. This implies that the protagonist dies.

Can't always be attached to old time, this game will have an end.

No matter what decision has made, I hope the ending will be softness, like the wind in summer and the moon in the night.

So I used very sweetness colors and styles for the endings.In both text and graphics.

In the best ending, we make the player reincarnate into a panda, so that he can be frequently visited by his daughter.Other endings are similar. Although you don't remember any longer, your footprints can always give comfort to the living. 

What can I be reincarnated into in my next life?

Maybe it's good to just see the old family at a glance...
