Connected games 05-Level Building in UE5
we're overall sticking to the original plan, then.
After finalizing the traps, primary color scheme, and drawing the terrain map, I proceeded to create the first level of the game.
Establishment Process
0. Design Draft
1. Whiteboxing
2. Basic Terrain Formation
3. Detailed Placement of Rocks and Other Objects
4. Vegetation
Select vegetation and adjust its distribution across the map. Fine-tune the placement of vegetation to ensure it complements the environment and enhances the overall aesthetic.
5. Minor Adjustments
Consider water flow, adjust the positions of rocks and bridges, pay attention to the elevation changes in each area, and give a final review to the overall visual effects.
Later, I found that this seemed a bit too small for the overall map, so I made some size adjustments.
Characters
Regarding the optional characters in the game, I'm not particularly inclined to give different characters too many distinct abilities. However, I do support the idea of giving each character a different companion creature.
"Plan 0"
This is the preliminary draft, and it's evident that the planned number of characters is too many.
"Plan 1"-A transitional plan.
The knights: can use shield and sword
The peasants: can pickup any things as weapons
The wizards: can use magic power
The jesters: can copy one of other role for a certain period
"Plan 2"-Added more distinct abilities for the characters, further differentiating them from each other.
