Connected games 01
I discussed general ideas about multiplayer games with my team.
Brainstorming Session:
Personally, I'm leaning towards games similar to Civilization.
I roughly organized everyone's ideas and listed the mentioned games.
This is the game I've been considering. Mainly focusing on balancing the economy system of this multiplayer game.
I think it would be interesting if all players had the same starting points to use for purchasing.
In Civilization games, starting points are often crucial, but they're randomized. Therefore, I propose letting players auction off terrain among themselves.
However, evidently, making a more casual game might appeal to a wider audience. Ideas for creating a slightly competitive, yet relaxing game have become more popular. Perhaps in 3D, or with a touch of light competition...
But after the discussion, it seems like everyone prefers to make a last man standing type of game. After the discussion, the first thing that came to mind for me was Mario Kart, so I roughly outlined the levels I had in mind and... perhaps we need an interesting inventory of items.
Consideration: A comically silly physics engine?
Could add more entertainment and a relaxed atmosphere to the game.
The climbing system might be burdensome for the program. I might consider removing it later.
Racing games may require more focus on the sense of speed. I plan to explore more racing game types.
The target audience for my game currently, I believe, consists of casual gamers—people who enjoy socializing and gathering with friends for party games.Perhaps I would like to make the game controls simpler.
